My understanding was that previous OCSP negotiations with the Diocese of Rochester regarding a shared assignment had gotten nowhere---hence Fr Catania's departure to Omaha. Let us hope that Fr Perkins has greater success. I can't think who would be available from the OCSP for such an assignment, but we await further details with interest.I agree that the implication seems to be that an OCSP priest other than Fr Catania would be available to relocate to upstate New York and take over responsibility for a diocesan parish. This also presents the dilemma that the diocesan parish could easily dominate the OCSP priest's attention, with a weekly BDW mass a very secondary responsibility.
