Atonement Academy Headmaster Removed

A visitor sent me a copy of a letter to Atonement Academy parents from Fr Lewis dated April 3, yesterday, saying, "Yesterday, I relieved Mr James Growdon of his duties as Head of School at the Atonement Academy. This action was necessary to maximize opportunities for the students, support the faculty and staff, increase the schools [sic] visibility, and ensure the Atonement Academy's viability for years to come."

This action was apparently so quick that as of this post, Mr Growdon is still listed as headmaster on the school's web site. There's beeen considerable churning in the headmaster position. A quick search brought up a post on the Atonement Academy Facebook page saying "We are overjoyed to announce that Mr. John Markovetz will take up his duties as Headmaster on January 2nd [2017]." Another Facebook post as of last June still shows Mr Markovetz as headmaster.

Interestingly, as of January 12, 2018, I had a post here that dealt in part with the issue of headmasters churning at the Atonement Academy:

One of the consistent issues that parents of Atonement Academy children and others have raised with me is the constant churning of headmasters. Clearly the parents would prefer to have a qualified and competent headmaster who is empowered to do his job, but especially when the headmaster reported to Dcn Orr -- who also taught at the school -- this didn't happen. Dcn Orr's retirement doesn't seem to have improved the situation, however.

I'm told by multiple sources that earlier this month, an e-mail from Fr Lewis went out that said the current headmaster was being asked (or had asked himself, it wasn't clear) to step down and resume a teaching only role, with the search on for a new headmaster. This time it would not be a crisis pick, with the position staying open as long as it takes to find the right person for the job.

Well, since Mr Growdon seems to have lasted less than a year, and that he was terminated in the middle of the school year at that, suggests he wasn't the right person for the job, but the new regime has clearly been unable to solve whatever problems had been causing headmasters to churn previously.

I'll greatly appreciate any additional perspective knowledgeable visitors may be able to provide in this matter.

UPDATE: I'm told that Fr Phillips collapsed yesterday and was taken to the ER. According to OLA Facebook page, he has been admitted to hospital and is having tests done, after fainting during the noon mass on Wednesday.
